the oscars are running way too long

I really wanted to see this year's Academy Awards in its entirety, but it's late and I'm tired, so I'm headed to bed. On this note, I'm grateful that I have the freedom (and good taste) to turn off the TV whenever Beyoncé sings.

cheap, crazy or drunk need not apply

I am grateful today for not being completely socially unaware, unlike some people who shall remain nameless. (And this applies to more than one person)...Get a life, stop being cheap, and stop trying to impress me by how drunk you can get.

I am also grateful that my boss fired the insane guy in the kitchen. But, if suddenly I turn up dead, blame the guy that used to work in the kitchen at the Brock. Quite seriously I'm worried he might go postal and shoot the place up. This is not a joke.

Finally I'm grateful that I can relax this evening with a most adorable kitten. You can see how much she loves me because she's sitting on my desk watching me type this entry. Winnie, you rock.

money, it's a gas

I had the best weekend ever working at the Brock this weekend. I had just told my sister that people should give me money for just being me, and guess what?! People did! It was terrific. I love it when the universe listens to me.

I also worked at LBD this weekend...and put in some extra time at WoodRidge, so my weekend wasn't as much fun as others, but I love going to the bank with a deposit, so I'm not complaining.

This weekend I was also grateful for the free hockey tickets I got from my boyfriend, the Keystorm. Thanks boys.

valentine's day is over

Thank goodness Valentine's Day is over. I haven't had a boyfriend in February in 5..maybe 6 years. It's depressing to be reminded of that once a year, so last night I decided to have a date with my boyfriend The Keystorm and he bought me a half-litre of a fine beaujolais-village. It was as close to a real date as I was going to get, so I tried to enjoy it.

In brighter news, the universe listened to me again this week. Yesterday I had to be extremely grateful for my project deadlines getting pushed back. It was a bit stressful trying to figure out how everything was going to get done.

Today I'm grateful that I was able to get a hair appointment so quickly and that I get paid tomorrow.

home again

My vacation is over. It wasn't long enough and I already miss my sister. But we had a great time and no one was badly injured.

Today I am grateful that I have the freedom to visit my sister any time I want. And I'm also grateful for the freedom to come into work late after a holiday.

Greetings from Calgary. My holiday to visit Raina for her birthday has been a blast. Wednesday we take off for Canmore and Invermere for some exciting adventures. Can't wait.

Today I am exceptionally grateful that Kevin #392 installed Raina's cable internet.
